San Diego Girl Develop It
I am in San Diego today, and decided to take a React class from Girl Develop It in San Diego. For me, this was a return to where everything started. Prior to coming to Hackbright, I took multiple classes with Girl Develop It in San Diego, to see if in-person software classes, as opposed to online classes, provided the same, worse or better way for me to learn.
The one thing that I always enjoyed about Girl Develop It in San Diego is still true: everyone is incredibly kind, gracious, welcoming, and the classes are set up to help you succeed. This class was no exception, although the beginning React class is more complex than the beginning HTML & CSS class.
During the class, we first configured React and then worked on building a very simple profile, which we continued to expand and add more information to. It’s pretty cheesy:
Then, we built a VERY simple counter with increase and decrease buttons:
The buttons work and it was exciting to finally feel like I could do something with React. I need more studying and practice with React, but I am off to a good start!
