I had a good day. Today was primarily HTML and CSS, and so some of it was a review. What surprised me the most is that when I took the Girl Develop It Classes on HTML and CSS, we spent a lot of time talking about compatibility – e.g. the idea that a lot of people are using older web browsers and that we should design with that in mind. We didn’t use a lot of the newer elements since older web browsers do not support them. No one mentioned anything about this during the lecture today. Maybe it is just a San Francisco bias – the assumption that everyone in this particular area is willing to update their web browsers and therefore that everyone else does too.
